I'm Becoming a Somatic Therapist!

I have found Somatic Therapy to be an incredibly effective form of healing and and am now in training to become a Somatic Therapist myself. I'm offering free sessions working with test clients as part of my training. Learn more about Somatic Therapy below, as well as how to experience sessions for free!  

 

 
What is Somatic Therapy​?

The word “somatic” is derived from the Greek word “soma” which means “living body.” It is a holistic form of therapy grounded in the relationship between the mind and the body. 


Some of the benefits include:

  • Reducing discomfort, strain, and stress in the body

  • Transforming negative emotional experiences

  • Creating a greater sense of Self

  • Building resilience and offering hope

 
What is Transformative Touch?

Transformative Touch (TT) is a form of Somatic Therapy. Touch and gentle movement are used in combination with verbal dialogue. It is a collaborative process between practitioner and client. The intention is not to fix or align you, but to guide you into a heightened awareness of the sensations in your body. Sensations are the language of the body and provide access points to inner knowing. Awareness allows us to move from habit to choice and thereby to change. 

 

Underlying the practice of Transformative Touch is the belief that each person is an inseparable combination of body, mind, heart and soul. The body is where your emotions live, your thoughts occur, your soul dwells, and your wisdom abides. We look to the body as a wise resource, ally, and guide.

All TT sessions are conducted with the client fully clothed on a massage table.
